Martial artists through their pressure can suffer from injuries. Yoga can help you sustain “in the game” longer by balancing the Yin and Yang aspects of your body in addition to strengthening and improving the flexibility of your body.

Jiu jitsu and many martial arts typically can lead to poor posture, rigidity due to habitual movement patterns, back pains and skeletomuscular misalignment. One of the most commonly ‘imposed demands’ of jiu-jitsu is contraction. Regular practice of asanas and vinyasas will help to lengthen and open up your body.

With improved flexibility through the practice of yoga, you will have a greater range of motion in your joints. As a result, you can will have more options available to in each position.

One of the best things a fighter can have is balance. And yoga helps develop exactly that.

The more you develop your body awareness and breath control through yoga, the more you understand your body and how to be more effectively on the mat.
